My Goals for September 🌸

September is here, and I want to share my goals for this month. Not because I need to be strict with myself, but because I like to have something to reach for – small things that give me hope, joy, and something to look forward to.

At the same time, life is not so simple right now. I am still on 100% sick leave, under medical evaluation. The doctors think I might be highly sensitive to chemicals, but I don’t have a diagnosis yet. My days are up and down, back and forth, and things can change in a minute.

Even so, I want to create good days for myself. I want to breathe fresh air, enjoy creativity, listen to my body, and simply live. These are the goals that I hope will help me do that in September.

A new month, a new chance to breathe.

8000 Steps a Day 🚶‍♀️

One of my big goals for September is 8000 steps every day. This was a goal I set back in January, but because of being sick, I couldn’t keep up with it. Now I want to try again. I feel my best when I am outside in fresh air – no chemicals, just nature, flowers, trees, late summer turning into autumn, birds, rain, wind, sun. Sometimes I walk with a podcast or Spotify in my ears, sometimes just silence. 30 days with 8000 steps means 240,000 steps in September. That feels good.

Counting steps, counting moments.

One Hour of Blogging Every Day ✍️

Another goal is to work on my blog, Just a Girl and Her Crafting Journey, at least one hour every day. I feel like I have something to say, and I want to invest time and energy into sharing it. I also want to publish one blog post each week – because writing gives me a voice.

Sharing Joy on Instagram 📸

I also want to post something on Instagram every day. A story, a post, maybe a reel. I want to show the small joys of everyday life, that there can still be light, creativity, and good days even when you are on sick leave.

Daily Yin Yoga 🧘‍♀️

Yoga has become important to me. Since August 10th 2024, I have been doing yoga every single day – mostly Yin Yoga. It has given me peace, softness in my body, and so much calmness inside. So my goal is to continue with yoga every day in September, whether it’s ten minutes or over an hour.

Strength Training Four Times a Week 💪

And then there is strength training. My body is not always cooperating, but training has always been part of my lifestyle. My goal is four times a week – two upper body sessions and two lower body. Even if I don’t manage all the exercises or repetitions, I will still be there, doing my best, meeting people at the gym, feeling the energy.

Not my strongest day, but I made it here.

Finishing My Temperature Blanket 🧶

Another creative goal is to finish my 2024 temperature blanket. I only have 21 days left to crochet, but it has been standing still for a while. September will be the month I finish it.

Each stitch, a memory of time passing.

Buying Pink Boots 👢

And yes – buy pink boots! I have been without a car for five months, which means I walk everywhere in all kinds of weather. Now that autumn rain is here, I need boots. Preferably pink ones. With glitter. And maybe a raincoat to match.

Designing My Own Sweater 🧵

One project I am very excited about is to design a knitting pattern for a Just a Girl and Her Crafting Journey sweater. I already bought beautiful pink yarn, and I want to make a sweater with white text on it. For me, it’s a symbol of this creative journey – my own and everyone else’s.

Pink yarn + white text = my dream sweater in progress.

Finishing the Book What’s Your Dream? 📚

I also want to finish reading the book What’s Your Dream?. I’m halfway through, and I love it. Simon Squibb inspires me so much. He writes honestly about daring to start, daring to dream, and to follow your own path. September will be the month I finish it – and maybe read it again.

“Simon Squibb suggests finding your purpose by looking inward to identify your passions and problems you feel called to solve, and by looking outward to find people with a strong purpose whose energy is infectious.”

His words really resonate with me. They remind me to look both inside and outside of myself – to notice what matters most to me, and to surround myself with people whose energy lifts me up.

This book inspires me to keep dreaming – and to dare to start.

Listening to My Body 💗

But most importantly: listen to my body. This is the ninth month of being on sick leave, and it is not at all what I thought 2025 would look like. Some days I can do more, other days I need to rest. I am learning to let my body decide, even when my head wants more. And that’s okay. There’s always tomorrow.

Simply Living 🌸

And finally: live. It means being present and enjoying the little things. It’s about making cozy days at home, surrounding myself with colors I love, and creating joy no matter how my body feels that day. At the end of the day, I don’t have to do anything – except live

At the end of the day, I don’t have to do anything – except live.

Do you have any goals for September? Or maybe for the rest of the year? I would love to hear them. Let’s inspire each other and keep moving forward, one step at a time.

With love,
Trine – Just a Girl and Her Crafting Journey 💕
